The short version
Sondor helps you write using your own words. The material you create, your interview transcripts, your stories, your finished pieces, is stored in your own Notion workspace, under your own Notion account. We don't hold your content on our servers.
We do hold some things: your account details, the secure connection to your Notion, and records needed to run the service. Details below.
What we collect
Content you create
- Interview transcripts and session material
- Voice recordings you make in the app
- Writing samples and documents you upload or paste
- Content generated from your own words
Account and operational data
- Your email address and account credentials
- Your encrypted Notion connection token
- Session records (when you logged in, which device)
- Subscription and payment status
- Usage records (sessions completed, features used)
What we don't collect
- We don't track you across other websites
- We don't sell your data to anyone
- We don't use your content to train AI models
Where your data actually lives
This distinction matters, so we're being precise about it:
In your own Notion workspace: all of your content. Interview transcripts, stories, voice profile, finished pieces, everything Sondor helps you produce. You own it, you can read it directly in Notion without us, and you keep it if you leave.
On Sondor's servers: your account record, your encrypted Notion access token, session records, subscription status, and usage data. This is what's needed to log you in, connect you to your own Notion, and bill you correctly.
Third parties we use
Your data passes through these services in the course of running Sondor:
- Anthropic (Claude) — processes your session material to conduct interviews and assemble content. Under Anthropic's API terms, material submitted through their API is not used to train their models.
- Notion — stores all of your content, in your own workspace, under your own Notion account and their privacy policy.
- AssemblyAI — transcribes voice recordings into text.
- Stripe — processes payments. We never see or store your full card details.
- Railway — hosts our backend servers.
- Cloudflare — serves our website.
Voice recordings
When you record audio in Sondor, it's transcribed to text so the app can work with your words. Recordings are processed by AssemblyAI and handled according to your settings in the app.
Sensitive material
Sondor's interviews can go into personal territory, formative experiences, loss, belief, unresolved tension. That's the point of the tool.
Because of that, Sondor includes a safeguard: if a session surfaces language suggesting serious distress, the app will show you crisis resource information, and will mark that material so it isn't automatically resurfaced to you later in suggestions or prompts. The material stays fully visible in your own archive, nothing is hidden or deleted from you. It simply isn't served back unprompted.
This detection is automated and imperfect. It is not monitoring by a human, and it is not a substitute for real support.
Your Notion connection
You connect your own Notion account to Sondor by granting access, and you choose what to share. You can revoke that access at any time from Notion's own settings.
If you revoke it, Sondor loses access, but your content stays exactly where it is, in your Notion, untouched. Nothing gets deleted, because it was never ours to delete.
Deleting your account
You can request account deletion at any time by emailing hello@sondor.ai. We'll delete your account record, your stored connection token, and your session data from our servers.
Your content in Notion is unaffected, it's yours, and it stays.
If Sondor shuts down
Sondor is an early-stage product built by one person. If it ever ceases operation, your content is unaffected: it lives in your Notion workspace and remains fully accessible to you without Sondor existing. We'd give reasonable advance notice and delete account data from our servers.
Age requirement
Sondor is for adults, 18 and over. The interviews explore personal history, belief, and formative experience at real depth, and the product isn't designed or appropriate for minors. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy meaningfully, we'll notify you by email before the changes take effect.
